Product Eligibility, Licensing & Restricted Goods
What may be sold, which products need evidence, and when a listing must stay inactive.

Bazaretti’s responsibility and seller obligations
Bazaretti administers and enforces marketplace product eligibility: classification, evidence review, decisions, ongoing monitoring and proportionate restriction or removal. Sellers remain responsible for genuine and safe goods, truthful submissions and licences legally required for their products and activities.
There is no universal Hong Kong reseller licence covering every category. Requirements depend on the actual product, claims, parties, import/export route and destination. A Business Registration Certificate alone does not establish permission to sell a particular product. Platform rules may be stricter than the legal minimum.
This policy sets eligibility requirements; it does not certify that every listed product is licensed, every seller is compliant, or our payment partner has approved Bazaretti. Payment contracts and actual checkout and fulfilment arrangements determine the parties’ roles, not this policy alone.
Ordinary categories: standard review
Non-electrical household and kitchen accessories, home organisation, furniture, clothing, footwear, bags, stationery, books, non-hazardous crafts, ordinary garden/hand tools, basic sports accessories and non-medical pet accessories are not automatically prohibited. They remain subject to accurate descriptions, traceable sourcing, authenticity, relevant warnings and destination-market requirements.
Powered tools, chemicals, children’s items, food-contact products, protective or life-saving equipment and controlled materials require separate assessment. Category placement alone never establishes eligibility.
Restricted categories: evidence before activation
Electrical appliances require model/rating labels and applicable conformity certificates, declarations or test reports, including plug and voltage suitability. Toys, baby and children’s goods require relevant safety testing, age grading, warnings and supplier/manufacturer details.
Food, beverages and food-contact products require applicable trader/import authorisations, ingredients, labelling, origin and safety evidence. Supplements and ingestibles require assessment of ingredients, claims and legal classification. Medicines, Chinese medicines and medical/diagnostic devices require specialist review and applicable registration or authorised supply evidence; unlawful or unauthorised medicines are prohibited.
Cosmetics, toiletries, disinfectants and cleaners require ingredients, intended use, substantiated claims and applicable safety/chemical evidence. Pesticides, hazardous chemicals and controlled precursors require relevant registration, permits, safety data, storage and transport evidence; prohibited substances cannot be listed.
Radio/wireless equipment requires applicable technical approvals and trade controls. Batteries, vehicle and transport products require safety and dangerous-goods transport evidence. Animals, plants and wildlife products require lawful provenance and applicable health, quarantine, import and protected-species authorisations; illegal trade is prohibited.
Strategic or dual-use goods, drones, lasers and specialised surveillance equipment require technical, end-use, destination and licensing assessment. Precious metals, gemstones and high-value goods require authenticity and lawful provenance. Refurbished, repaired and second-hand goods require accurate condition, ownership, repair, recall and warranty disclosure.
Alcohol, tobacco and other dutiable commodities are not permitted without a documented lawful route, all required authorisations and management approval. Existing stricter platform prohibitions remain applicable. These examples are not exhaustive: hold any product with unresolved mandatory safety, licensing, authenticity or destination requirements.
Prohibited goods and claims
Illegal drugs, unlawful controlled substances, counterfeit/pirated/infringing products and forged authenticity evidence are prohibited.
Prohibited weapons and accessories, firearms, ammunition, explosives, unlawful pyrotechnics and unlawful weapon-like products are prohibited under platform rules.
Falsified, unregistered or unlawfully supplied medicines, unlawful medical claims, prohibited smoking/vaping products and illegal wildlife trade are prohibited. Platform rules also prohibit prescription medicines, live animals, human remains/body parts, adult content and used cosmetics or underwear.
Stolen goods, fraudulent documents, identity credentials offered for misuse, payment-card data, crime-enabling products, malware, spyware and tools for unlawful access or interception are prohibited.
Recalled or seriously unsafe products and materially false claims about origin, ingredients, certification, performance, safety, health benefits or authenticity are prohibited, as are goods disallowed by law, authorities, applicable provider terms or Bazaretti’s risk rules.
A licence does not override a platform prohibition. Any permitted exception requires documented legal assessment, management approval and consistency with applicable provider terms; no exception may permit unlawful goods.
Evidence review and listing decisions
The required process is: classify the product and route; determine applicable requirements; collect evidence; verify scope, validity, authenticity and product match; decide; monitor; enforce. Verify with issuing authorities or official registers where the risk warrants it, and seek specialist advice for unresolved classifications.
Check licence holder, issuer, model, territory, conditions, expiry, labels, warnings, safety data and claim substantiation against the listing. Edited pages, inconsistent names, copied or out-of-scope documents, implausible dates and unverifiable issuers require investigation, not an automatic finding of forgery.
Record the decision, evidence, reason, reviewer and follow-up. Missing mandatory evidence or unresolved material discrepancies mean the listing must remain inactive. Imports from another marketplace do not bypass these requirements.
Changes, recalls, escalation and appeals
Reassess affected products after complaints, recalls, document expiry, material product changes, regulatory notices or credible adverse information. Where warranted, stop sales, identify affected SKUs and orders, preserve records and assess customer remedies and legal obligations.
Escalate serious safety concerns, forged-document suspicions, material misrepresentation and regulatory investigations without undue delay. Notify the relevant provider when material and required by law or contract, within the applicable deadline; there is no assumed universal 24-hour notification rule.
Bazaretti may request evidence, restrict destinations, remove listings, restrict accounts or apply lawful protective holds. Appeal from your registered email to hello@bazaretti.com with the listing/decision reference and genuine supporting evidence. Safety measures may remain during review.
